Wild Animus and Horse Bazaar present an exciting new youth digital arts competition with a cash prize for the production of panoramic content.
The winning panoramic digital art piece will be awarded $2000 and the runner up will receive $500. The prize will go to the screen-based content that best incorporates the music and artwork of Wild Animus and best utilises the Horse Bazaar’s unique panoramic projection system.
The panoramic projection system created at Horse Bazaar is inspired by the huge panoramic painted canvases of the 19th century. The system uses modern technology to create large-scale panoramas in digital form. Six projectors are tiled together to create a seamless 20 metre digital canvas that envelops the bar. Casting aside the traditional 4:3 screen format, visual artists are asked to produce digital content at an 8:1 ratio.
Download Wild Animus tunes, music and logo (see download page) and make your artwork by compiling your stills, animation or video in Watchout for the Horse Bazaar projection system. Come in and test your artwork in the space from 5pm on Monday, 14 September (by appointment only).
Judges will be asked to consider how the submissions engage elements such as innovative use of the entire projection surface, projection environment, aesthetic and compositional values, conceptual innovation, technical proficiency and above all, consideration of the Wild Animus story and themes.
All decisions made by the judges are final and no correspondence will be entered into. People submitting the entries will remain the owners of the intellectual property associated with their entry but Wild Animus and Horse Bazaar retains the right to show the material at Horse Bazaar venues and events.
The winners will be announced at awards night at the Horse Bazaar
